Saturday's Shots - Purple Hydrangeas
Does anyone else love a full-bodied purple hydrangea? I surely do! And now is the season to enjoy them all around Charlotte.
Want to change your pink hydrangea to purple?
In an acid soil, the pH causes the hydrangea to lean toward blue and purple hues. By lowering the pH, you can achieve the blue and purple colors - sometimes both on the same shrub. To lower the pH, add aluminum sulfate to the soil around the hydrangea several times each year.
*Check with your local garden center for more specific instructions and the product to use.
