Wordless Wednesday - Colorful Hallucinogenic
Rhododendron, while being beautiful to the eye, have also, long been used in traditional medicine due to the plant’s anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective (prevents liver damage) qualities.
Rhododendron, however, are poisonous to grazing animals, more commonly horses, because of a toxin that is naturally in the plant’s pollen and nectar. Humans have also been known to become ill from eating honey made by bees feeding on Rhododendron; the honey from these plants has a slightly hallucinogenic effect.
Now, you understand the title! Happy Wednesday!
