Mert's Heart and Soul
Charlotte, NC: Dining | Uptown | Southern, New Southern
Located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, Mert's Heart and Soul is one of my favorite restaurants in the Queen City. It is also one of the most sought after dining destinations in all of Charlotte. Mert's offers their award-winning macaroni and cheese, sweet, buttery cornbread, shrimp and grits, mouth-watering southern fried chicken and even delectable black-eyed pea patties.
Mert's southern, low country and Gullah-inspired favorites leave their guests with a one-of-a-kind "home cooked" experience. Stop by Mert's today to discover for yourself that Mert's IS the heart and soul of Charlotte! You'll be glad you did.

Debe,
Excellent a new place to try out next time I am in town. Maybe I will get lucky and there will be another RainCamp soon. Definitely sounds like a menu I want to try out though.
Sounds like Mary Mac's here in Midtown Atlanta. Everything is Southern...and fried.
Sounds like a great southern restaurant. I bet it's delicious.
Wow, Debe, this sounds like a terrific place! Hope they appreciate the efforts.
You are so taking me to this place when I come to Charlotte! It sounds incredible and I love shrimp and grits! YUM!
I will have to check it out. I am right up the road in Concord. I have heard about Mert's but never been there. Sounds awesome.
Mmmmmm...Fried chicken, mac & cheese...you're killin' me! Nothing too authentic in North Jersey. I'm loosening my belt just thinking about it!
Debe, Sounds good. I haven't been to Charlotte in awhile. Travelled through there a few times driving to Fort Bragg. Nice promotion of local good food sites. Guess you mameycould call this DFC (Debe's Food Channel).
Okay Debe, my mouth is watering for that macroni and cheese and all the other souther dishes. I would go to the kitchen, but it is 12:30 am. Stomach will just have to wait til breakfast.
