2011 Annual Speed Street Festival | Now Through Saturday, May 28
The 2011 Annual Speed Street Festival takes place on May 26-28, 2011.
Food Lion Speed Street will be transforming the Uptown Charlotte streets into a masterful showcase of motor sports, two stages of ongoing entertainment, appearances by top Sprint Cup Drivers, exhibits and festivities for all ages, including an amazing assembly of NASCAR show cars and simulators.
On Friday, May 27th, the bands will include country music star Josh Turner and the multi-platinum group Everclear. Performances begin at 9:30 p.m. on the Coca-Cola and Miller Lite stages.
Saturday, May 28th Eddie Money and Starship (featuring Mickey Thomas) will be performing on the Coca-Cola stage beginning at 8:15 p.m. Country star Clay Walker will take the Miller Lite stage at 9:30 p.m.
This year, the Food Lion Speed Street Festival will encompass theNASCAR Hall of Fame in its footprint. One of Charlotte’s most popular attractions, The NASCAR Hall of Fame, was recently named a Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Event.

Debe - This is the busiest week of the year for race fans with the indy 500, the Cokacola 600 in charlotte, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco. I may watch it all on TV.

Yes, it's definitely a busy time in our area--and, as Larry pointed out, in several others as well! The festivities in Uptown go on for the entire week and believe me, we have some major racing fans here in Charlotte!
