Things to Do in Charlotte NC - 47th Annual Festival in the Park
What are you going to be doing September 23 - 25 in Charlotte NC? Mark your calendar for the festival that Charlotteans look forward to each year (and have since 1964)! The festival where we all congregate in the fall for the art, music, shopping and carnival-style food, is one of Charlotte's favorite events of the year. Charlotte's 46th annual FESTIVAL IN THE PARK is this month--beginning in just a couple of weeks! Festival in the Park is held at Freedom Park in the Dilworth/Myers Park area off of East Boulevard.
Come one, come all! Join in the fun at Freedom Park!
Visitors from around the world join us for the sounds of big band music, delicious food, children playing in the park and talented artists from all over the world join in, creating a relaxed atmosphere for the entire family. Charlotte's Festival in the Park continues to grow each and every year! The big Camelot style tents surround the lake and the lights' reflection on the lake boasts the peaceful, still waters as you listen to the sounds of music and children's excitement as they have their faces painted or enjoy the magic show!
Over 100,000 visitors are expected at the annual event this year and over 150 artists and craftsmen and women will proudly display their talent. Each year, I manage to find many items that I just can't chose from and find many gifts for my family and friends here. You can't find the talent that you find here anywhere else either!
The scents of food fill the air as you traverse the sidewalk surrounding the lake, stopping along the way to see the clown show, listen to your favorite new up and coming musician or purchase the hottest new artist's work! There are clown stages, magician stages, musician stages and little shops along your path. Even going around the lake for a second round is expected at Festival in the Park Charlotte NC! Nearly 1,000 entertainers provide ongoing shows at the main stage and many of the surrouning stages and tents for your enjoyment.
Voted as a BEST 200 Festival by Sunshine Artists Magazine, this wonderful 3-day event for all ages is fun, educational, and it's free! You simply can't beat the good time you will have at Charlotte's 47th annual Festival in the Park! Mark your calendars now for Charlotte's popular fall Festival in the Park!

Debe - The Festival in the Park sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun.
Debe - I'd go there just to do all my Christmas shopping in one fell swoop. Wish we had an event of this magnitude around here.
Debe - this event sound like a winner and you can't beat the price. Wish it was closer. You'd have me there amongst the multitudes in a heartbeat.
Debe: Great local event and terrific post on it. I'm with the others who'd like be able to attend and would but for the geographical issue.
Debe,
Is this in Freedom Park? I always use to love all the festivals they held there when I was growing up. It is awesome having all that and it was great being so near where we lived in Myers Park.
Michelle--It's one of my favorite things to do all year! Your boys would enjoy the climbing wall, for sure!
Gail--It's just so much fun to search for treasures here that are so unique--beats going to the mall and buying gifts that are mass-produced!
Leah--Well, you'll just have to plan a trip down to Charlotte to attend! It's truly a wonderful experience and a full day, if not a second day is REQUIRED!
Kirsten--You just need to put us on your calendar! It woud be worth the trip, I promise!
Debe, this really looks like a fantastic time. How wonderful to have a festival this time of the year when it is not so dreadfully hot and humid! You have something for everyone!

Looks like a great event Debe! Charlotte certainly is a great place to live...
Debe, we have a Middle Eastern Orthodox church down the street from where I live, and they are preparing for their annual festival. The food and dancing is all so much fun! You've given me an idea for a Sunday post!
