Thankfulness (Day - 2) - Thank God for Little Boys...and Big Ones Too!
Those who know me, know my family is the center of my life - second only to my faith!
My boys are 18 months apart and they have been the apples of my eye since the day they were each born. Matthew (on the right) is the oldest and he embodies everything an older child typically does - he's very independent and has the biggesst heart of anyone I know. He's also incredibly confident but, has not always been that way!
Matt left for college a painfully quite introvert and we were very concerned - how on earth would he survive socially in college? Scholastics had never been an issue for him but, being social was just not his thing.
A few college parties and a total extrovert roommate brought him right out of his shell in about a half semester! We often joke that he could talk to a wall now - it's amazing the change in him. He has grown into a wonderful young man and will be 30 next birthday (in 2018).
It's so hard to believe how quickly time has flown by - it really seems like just a couple of years ago, we were sitting in the floor building crazy projects with Legos! Matt is now married to a wonderful girl who we absolutely adore and enjoy having a daughter now - thanks to Matt (Mr. Social)!
Ryan, on the left, is my baby and yes, he too, embodies the yougest qualities - always! He knows that if he needs a shoulder, he calls me. He has always been incredibly social, athletic and the life-of-the-party kind of guy! He knew what he wanted to do, went off to college for it and graduated with degrees in business & marketing.
He promptly took a job in recruiting and has never looked back - go figure! He was recently recuited himself and accepted a fabulous position at a recruiting firm in Uptown Charlotte. He has worked primarily with the DOD for the past 3 years and has a passion for placing our veterans in homeland jobs across the country.
Ryan has a serious girlfriend and I'm just waiting for that engagement announcement! They are a very sweet couple, share a lot of interests and are just crazy about one another. I may have two daughters soon...we shall see!
I'm so very thankful for both of my boys - I'm thankful for a wonderful relationship with each of them and together as a family. We are always able to be honest with one another and we laugh SO much together - at each other and at ourselves too!
Here's to being thankful for little boys - and big ones too!
And, thank you, Debbie Reynolds, for your Thanksgiving challenge!
