Motivational Monday - Pondering Failure

Motivational Monday - Pondering Failure

Channeling Michael Jacobs and pondering this Monday morning...

Two kinds of failure

We often consider attempting something and it not succeeding a failure but, what about those times we simply were too afraid to try something new or challenging? Of course, not thinking through something before trying it can result in just as much of a failure.

Either way, I’m still a big believer that you have to kiss a lot of toads before finding your prince! Failure breeds success and if we step back and recognize our failures, we can turn them into successes.

"There are two kinds of failures: those who thought and never did, and those who did and never thought."                  -Laurence J. Peter

Happy Monday Everyone!

Good morning Debe. I just love that quote and agree completely. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning, Debe Maxwell, CRS this is the positive side of failure....everything has a positive side....

Posted by Barbara Todaro, Marketing Agent for The Todaro Team (RE/MAX Executive Realty ) about 2 months ago

Good morning Debe. The positive side of failure is that you eliminated a potential route to success. Enjoy your day!

Posted by Wayne Martin, Real Estate Broker - Retired (Wayne M Martin) about 2 months ago

Debe, if we take another route we just learned a lesson on how not to succeed. I think failure has to be a part of success, onward and upward! Happy Monday!

Good morning,  Debe - thank you for the mention and anyone can ponder. And I,  for one, highly encourage it.  Ponder on.

Good morning Debe Maxwell, CRS
Happy Monday!
This reminds me of the saying "It's better to have love and lost than never to have loved at all."  We can never be successful at everything we try but of we don't try we can surely never succeed.

Posted by Carol Williams, "Customized Mentoring & Marketing Services" (U.S.: I specialize in helping agents who have been in the business 2 years or less create a thriving business.) about 2 months ago

If we are not willing to try something, then we cannot achieve success with it and of course we will fail in that aspect.  Trying something that is difficult and not finding success is not failure because at least we tried and perhaps if we try again, we will be successful with it.

Good morning Debe.  I try not to ponder about failure or success.  I just try to think and do.

If we learn from our failures, then they weren't complete failures. They were part of our education.

Good morning Debe Maxwell, CRS, every morning, I write whatever comes to my mind in my journal, today, it was about learning new things, adapting to change and never give up. Your post fits perfectly. What could possibly happen if we just jump in? We can learn if nothing else. Have an awesome week!

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS I have kind of a different take on what many consider to be a failure.  I don't think they are failures but rather another step on ones journey and it's up to them to find the best and the new way of pondering it, thinking about it and re-imagining it.

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS - Though there may be a bite right after the failure, I look at this as a learning experience. If it doesn't kill you it will make you better.

Excellent quote and the fear of failure permeates our society and holds people back.

Hi Sheila Anderson and Happy Tuesday now! I also love that quote - it makes you think a little deeper than the written word.

SO true, Amanda S. Davidson - if we choose not to beat ourselves up over our failures, we always learn something from them. That more often than not, propels us to success! Happy Tuesday!

Hi Michael Jacobs - now, every time I hear the word, 'ponder,' I think of you...now and forever more!

Posted by Debe Maxwell, CRS, Charlotte Homes for Sale - Charlotte Neighborhoods (www.iCharlotteHomes.com | The Maxwell House Group | RE/MAX Executive | (704) 491-3310) about 1 month ago

Hi Carol Williams and Happy Tuesday now! Such a great quote and you know, we always learn something valuable from failure, lending to future sucesses. We just have to pay attention and learn from those failures.

Posted by Debe Maxwell, CRS, Charlotte Homes for Sale - Charlotte Neighborhoods (www.iCharlotteHomes.com | The Maxwell House Group | RE/MAX Executive | (704) 491-3310) about 1 month ago

Oh, I totally agree, Brian England - "Trying something that is difficult and not finding success is not failure because at least we tried and perhaps if we try again, we will be successful with it."

You know, when we think of failure, it's often the things that we try and remember the failures...the lessons that later, lead to successes. However, I don't ever want to regret not trying something - to me, that would be the larger failure as nothing is really learned.

Funny but, I used to tell my boys that they learn more when they lose a game (sports) than when they win. They just can't allow their disappointment to last too long - they need to then focus on what they can improve upon. I don't know if I ever got through to them but, I know I said it a LOT, Sally! LOL

Smart man, Gabe Sanders - think and DO and don't pass up doing something for fear of failure!

Posted by Debe Maxwell, CRS, Charlotte Homes for Sale - Charlotte Neighborhoods (www.iCharlotteHomes.com | The Maxwell House Group | RE/MAX Executive | (704) 491-3310) about 1 month ago

Lessons learned, Marte Cliff - lessons in failure often lead to making better decisions and taking steps toward success!

I do my gratuities but, I don't write them down, Beth Atalay. I used to be better at that but, I am faithful at focusing mindfully on gratitude each and every morning, without fail. I agree that we need to just jump in and if we succeed, GREAT! If not, more we've learned valuable lessons, for sure!

Absolutely, Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, CRS 602-380-4886! Of course we are in complete agreement!

" Where is the lesson to be learned here " is my question when things don't go as planned. Many failures have turned into great successes. Sometimes, it takes a fail to reveal the course you're suppose to be on. If we always look for the lesson in everything - we learn - we advance - we prosper.
