Speechless Sundays - SQUIRREL!

Speechless Sundays - SQUIRREL!

I've written in the past about Barney sensing that the deer family that frequents our backyard in SouthPark. Well, it's been awhile since the deer have spent any length of time grazing in our yard but, this afternoon, Barney was alerted...and he alerted us as well!

Barney & Deer

They spent quite a bit of time grazing and Barney watched intently for a bit, but, then other critters caught his eye - squirrel!

Debe this seems to be the time of year that more and more critters seem to be popping up.

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS . Did you have a picture to go with this post?

Hi Debe- this makes me miss my little squirrel who would let me feed him by hand!!!!

Barney reacts to squirrels as Rachael's dog, Tanner, reacts to doughnuts! I've learned not to walk past Bob's Donut Shop with Tanner; he lies down on the sidewalk and refuses to budge for 5-10 minutes!

Our neighborhood had so many squirrels who claimed attic, under the deck as their living habitat.  The 4 foxes arrived after Dividend Homes evict them.  I notice a head or rib cage of these critters scattered and no longer I had to check the attic or barns on another nest of them. Native animals have a way to control animal population.

I am confident the deer is happy that Barney got distracted by the Squirrel:))Endre

Morning Debe.

With so many different critters around, I'm sure Barney is kept busy guarding his property

I think that squirrels may be more to his liking if he wants to pick a fight.  The deer may be a little too big for him.

Dogs do love to chase squirrels for sure. Barney looks quite alert.

Good morning Again Debe. I saw this on Facebook and laughed. Mine are generally not interested in any other animals except the neighbor dogs.

Yes, Bob "RealMan" Timm - it should be there now for you! I have no idea why it didn't stick the first time!

Aww, that was the sweetest story, Kathy Streib - ours are far too skittish for hand-feeding here!

OMG, I literally laughed out loud, Lottie Kendall - the mind's eye view of that is hysterical!

Oh gosh, I've had to have them removed from attics of homes I'm selling too, Sam Shueh - they just make themselves right at home, don't they?!

It's so fun to watch the dynamics - that's why I missed the best shot, Endre Barath, Jr.  They actually look at one another and the deer don't seem to be bothered at all by 'little' Barney! He's a psychotic mess when they're in the back yard though! LOL

Funny but, only the deer seem to appeal to him - the others, meh!

Oh, you know how little dogs think they're mightier than they are, Gabe Sanders - and Barney fits that description to a 't!'

He is, Sharon Lee - Barney doesn't miss a trick...we joke, even when he's sleeping! When there are deer in the backyard, he wakes up from a deep sleep and runs after them - it's crazy!

Thankfully our neighbors don't have dogs but, when they walk by in the front, Barney watches them out the front door and goes a bit crazy!
