3 Reasons Charlotte Home Buyers & Sellers are Moving NOW

3 Reasons Charlotte Home Buyers & Sellers are Moving NOW

Of course, there are a multitude of reasons people buy and sell homes. Each summer season, we find that there are a specific pool of buyers and sellers, who are not concerned about the time of year that it is – they are simply ready to move.

The top 3 reasons people buy and sell real estate in the Charlotte Metro region this time of year are:

  1. To be closer to family and friends
  2. Downsizing
  3. Job relocation

As a Charlotte home buyer, I would still strongly encourage you to bear in mind that the school assignments impact resale values. Do your homework when it comes to school rankings.

#SellingCharlotteAs a home seller in the Charlotte Metro region, know that your buyer pool may be a little smaller during the summer months, especially August. However, do keep in mind that those buyers who are relocating for jobs are here when their jobs call for them – they are serious buyers, not ‘tire-kickers.’

Spring season brings people out of their homes to shop but, as I said, wind up being tire-kickers. The summer shoppers are very different.

Bottom Line

Every season is a time to buy or sell real estate – you simply have different players who are doing so…and for different reasons.

Debe all good reasons, but mine will be to get away for the crazy high taxes here in CT!!!

We hear a lot about that here in NC, George! I'm amazed at how well our state maintains with 1/4 of the taxes that NY, NY, CT and some of the other states do.

Happy Friday George Souto

Hi Debe Maxwell, CRS - Because you have been able to identify why people buy and sell real estate in Charlotte, you are the one to help them with their needs.  All real estate is local as they say.

I write a lot about the weather because Sedona gets many people coming to get away from harsh winter or summer conditions. They enjoy outdoor activities and want year round ability to enjoy the outdoors. So they are always asking about the weather.

Morning Debe.

My dream area would be where the temperature never gets over 80-85º and never under 60º.  Haven't found it yet.  So, does Charlotte fit my dream area?

Good morning Debe - I am sure the the summer slow down will not affect things that much in your market.

60 to 80º would be my preference too, James Dray! No, we drop into the teens during the winter and are often in the 90's during the summer months. This year has been quite a bit cooler than normal but, summer has been hot nonetheless!

We typically do have a bit of a slow-down but, it is expected and as I mentioned, buyers right now are serious buyers - they need to find housing and NOW!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Grant Schneider
